c) Create a wordsearch or a crossword with Christmas related vocabulary - you can use Wordsearchmaker , Wordsearch or Justcrosswords.
d) Create a picture dictionary - you can draw it yourself or create it online using this Picture Dictionary
e) Create a mindmap to share cool Christmas tree/house decorations, the presents you'd like to get, and some Christmas songs/movies - you can use Popplet.
f) Create a short comic strip about Christmas - you can use Pixton.

8th Grade - Due on the 31st of January
Up to you to explore and present to the class the vocabulary we will look into while dealing with the topic "food". Just choose ONE of the 4 mini tasks below:
1- Create a word cloud with relevant vocabulary. Create subtopics like: "Vegetables", "Fruit", etc. Use Wordle to do this.
2- Create a mind map displaying the relations between the words. Use Popplet for this one.
3- Create a video to practice vocabulary. Use text and images or record yourself. You can put everything together using Movie Maker.
4- Create a crossword or a wordsearch so you can test your colleagues' vocabulary skills. Use Wordsearch Maker and Just Crosswords.
Now, this next task needs to be tackled by all of you. It's time you let your reading shine through. So this one is all about books, audiobooks to be precise. Visit StoryBee or Storylineonline and choose ONE
audiobook. Listen and/or read the story and then choose one or two of
the tools below to: briefly present the author; explain what you
(dis)liked about the story and then retell the story or create a new
version of it.
1- Write a text about your addictions. Remember to structure your ideas so you actually create a text and not just loose sentences. Use this Essay Map to help you organize your paragraphs. Write your text using google docs and when you're done share the link with me by filling out this form - http://bit.ly/entregadetrabalho

1- Share with us how you celebrate Christmas. Write a
short text on it and add pictures that show your Christmas tree or any
other Christmas decorations around your place. Email me the text when
you are done.
2- Create a presentation on Prezi or PowerPoint and let the world know how we celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve in Madeira.
Again choose only ONE of the tasks below.
1- Choose a song, grab the lyrics from Lyrics.Wikia or Lyrics.com,
draw or use images that portrait what happens in each line of the song. When you're done take a picture or scan your drawings and upload them
to Movie Maker in order to create a music video for the song you chose.
I have placed a video below to show you what the end result might look like.
2- Review the verb tenses - present simple; present continuous, past simple, past continuous, present perfect, present perfect continuous - we have learnt in class this term and create a video that explains how and when a particular tense is used. Then use song lyrics to present examples of its use. You can download the audio of YouTube music videos using Flvto and then cut the excerpt of the music that interests you using mp3cut.net or cutmp3.net.
Below is an example of how your work might look like.
As soon as you finish your video you have two choices: either send me
the file so I can put it online or you take care of that yourselves.
Whichever you choose is fine by me.

that country celebrates Halloween. Then use GoAnimate and create an animation where you present the
information you gathered in a fun way.
It's time to practice your reading/speaking skills. - Access audiopal, vocaroo, or chirbit and record yourself reading the text on page 27 of your English book.
As always you'll need to share your work on the class blog afterwards.

Three different tasks guys. First is optional the second and the third are mandatory.
1st - Watch the video below and create a Halloween timeline using Capzles OR based on the information you gather from the video or any other reliable source (yes, you'll need to let us know what other sources you used) create a Halloween quiz using QuizRevolution
2nd It's time to practice your reading/speaking skills. - Access audiopal, vocaroo or chirbit and record yourself reading the text on page 27 of your English book. - Access englishcentral and do this exercise. Use screencast-o-matic or screenr to video record yourself doing the exercise 3rd Write a film review. Refer to the topics that appear on the page 27 of your book. Then access Glogster and create a poster for the movie you have chosen. Add images, text, video and audio to your poster.

- Head on over to Animoto and create a "about me" video presentation, so we can let the world know a bit more about the wonderful people you guys are.
For this assignment I have chosen to give each class separate tasks. So be careful and make sure you do the correct tasks.

- Visit the Connectors blog. Our spanish friends have left us a couple of messages. Please read and answer them. You won't be able to post directly, so e-mail me your answers and I'll post them myself.
- Our Turkish friends have challenged us to another celebration. This time it's Theatre Day. Visit the Celebrate You and Me Digitally wiki to get an overview of what they propose us. Choose one of the tasks or as many as you want.

- Create a class magazine. Each one of you is responsible for writing an article. You all know what you have chosen to write about, so just e-mail me your article when you're done, so I can put it all together on Issuu.

- Second, let the world know a little more about you. Write a short text, you can refer to the following: favourite food, favourite music, favourite subject, hobbies, sports, etc. Go to LIVETYPING, it records your writing process from start to finish, showing all you wrote, every word you deleted, corrected and changed. When you're done click on "Enliven" to watch your recording and then copy the code, post it on your blog to share your final text.
